Free email checker

Free email checker: see if an email address exists.

Type an email address below to check it for free. The email checker looks at the format, the domain, its mail servers and the mailbox itself, then tells you whether the address Passed, Failed or is Unknown, and why. No email is sent to the address, and you don't need an account for up to 3 checks a day.

What does the email checker check?

CheckWhat it tells you
FormatWhether the address is written correctly, such as missing @ or domain ending
DomainWhether the domain after the @ exists
Mail servers (MX)Whether the domain can receive email at all
MailboxWhether the mail server accepts this specific mailbox, asked without sending a message
Catch-allWhether the domain accepts every address, so the mailbox can't be confirmed
Risk flagsDisposable inboxes, role accounts like info@, free providers and likely typos

How do you read the result?

  • Passed: the mail server confirmed the mailbox exists and accepts mail
  • Failed: the address is badly formatted, the domain or mail server is missing, or the mailbox was rejected
  • Unknown: the server didn't give a clear answer, often because the domain is catch-all or delayed the check
  • Did you mean …?: a likely typo in the domain, such as gmial.com for gmail.com

How many free checks do you get?

You can check up to 3 addresses a day without an account. The address you enter is checked once and isn't stored. To keep the free checker available for everyone, there's also a daily limit across the whole site.

Create a free account and confirm your email to get 10 free test credits for single checks or a small list. After that, credits are pay as you go: one-time packages that never expire, with Unknown results free.

Can you check more than one email at a time?

Yes. To check a list, upload a CSV or TXT file in your dashboard. Duplicates are removed before checking, every address gets the same tests, and you can export only the results you want. To check addresses automatically, for example on a sign-up form, use the email verification API.

Is an email checker accurate?

No checker can honestly promise 100%. Mailboxes can be closed or fill up after a check, and catch-all domains never confirm individual addresses. EasyMailVerify returns Unknown with the reason instead of guessing. The accuracy methodology page explains how results are produced.

Frequently asked questions

Is the email checker free?

Yes. You can check up to 3 email addresses a day without an account. New accounts also get 10 free test credits once the email address is confirmed.

Does the email checker send an email to the address?

No. It asks the receiving mail server about the mailbox without sending any message, so the owner isn't notified.

Do you store the email addresses I check?

Free checks on this page aren't stored. Addresses checked from an account are permanently deleted 7 days after verification.

Why is my result Unknown?

Some domains accept mail for any address (catch-all) or delay unfamiliar checks, so the mailbox can't be confirmed. Unknown results use no credits in your account.

Can I check a whole list of emails?

Yes, with a free account. Upload a CSV or TXT file up to 10 MB; duplicates are removed automatically.

What's the difference between an email checker and an email verifier?

They're two names for the same thing: a tool that checks whether an address can receive mail. See the email verifier page for how each check works.
